A 2025 film in which both the heroes are dogs and the villains are also played by dogs. What has Malayalam cinema accomplished? Bollywood stars have made themselves superstars by remaking so many Malayalam movies. Everyone knows that this industry is unmatched in suspense thrillers.
And from here emerged Kand, a mystery film about a monkey listening to the radio while climbing a tree. Were you deceived? Now, an even next-level cinema has emerged, made by the same director of Kishkinda Kandam, which some are calling the Malayalam film of the year. Dogs are the heroes, dogs are the villains, mountains play the supporting roles, and the jungle doubles the suspense.
This is perhaps the most beautifully shot film ever made. Echo, a small name of three letters, has accomplished such a feat that Bollywood couldn’t even dream of making such a film. I can easily speak without any challenge. The final scene of this film will likely never have a climax comparable to that in Indian cinema from 2000 to 2025.
The film’s story is so powerful that it has made a side actor from Hindi films the lead actor of a Malayalam movie, because this film will be watched with the mind, not the face. It’s the story of a small village, the most famous of which is a small house built on the mountainside, where a woman from Malaysia has lived alone for many years. Many people suspect that the woman possesses black magic.
That’s why no other person has been seen around her to date. People are afraid to even talk about her. Yes, but it would be wrong to call her completely alone, because she lives with a few dogs in the same house.

Whoever mistook them for dogs and did something wrong here has never left. And because of all these strange incidents, the village police are searching for the real owner of the house, who was once a famous dog trainer. He loved dogs so much that he traveled from Karnataka to Malaysia to study them thoroughly, bringing this woman back with him.
But for the past six years, no one has seen him alive. In police parlance, he would be considered a missing person, or, given the vastness of the forest, who knows, he might have been preyed upon by some animal and never returned. But many believe this woman has wronged him, taking over his house in retaliation.
This strange story becomes even more bizarre when a cunning Navy officer enters the film, convinced that the owner of this house is alive and deliberately hiding from the world, but rather, living in this very forest, keeping an eye on the rest of the world. And the person who comes closest to answering this question is this boy who lives in the same house with the woman from Malaysia and serves her.
But let me tell you a secret: he himself is not who he pretends to be. Every character in this film tries to lie to us from the very beginning. The most deceptive mystery thriller of 2025, in which, despite everything unfolding before your eyes, the film refuses to let you see the truth until the very last scene reveals it.
You’ve never seen animals used like this in cinema. Some scenes will be terrifying, while others will leave you in disbelief that such a thing even exists. Write it down now. This film, whenever it hits OTT, will be a smash hit. It will be the most talked-about film. Bollywood will be desperate to remake it. But how can the feeling you get from seeing new faces be found in Bollywood’s plastic? Every actor is real. All the scenes are natural. The mystery factor is impossible.
The climax is Oscar-level. This is a 4.5 out of 5 star film, and you’ll have to watch it in theaters with subtitles. Otherwise, wait for OTT. Patience will pay off. Take care. Bye-bye.
